Dr. Bryan earned his bachelor of science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and his doctoral degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. He completed his fellowship training at Boston University School of Medicine. He is responsible for many seminal discoveries in the nitric oxide field that has resulted in dozens of issued U.S. and International patents.
Oral hygiene has been connected to systemic health for decades. The discoveries around nitric oxide producing bacteria in the oral cavity provide a mechanism that explains the oral systemic link. A healthy and diverse oral microbiome can provide sufficient nitric oxide to regulate systemic blood pressure. Use of mouthwash, fluoride and oral infections disrupt the oral microbiome leaded to loss of nitric oxide production and increased risk of cardiovascular disease and hypertension.

Using tools like digital imaging with a thermal camera we can help assess inflammation. See how you can determine the need to refer out for additional evaluation. These images may give you clues that a patient uses one side more than another to chew, nocturnal clenching and grinding, hidden infections that result in lymph gland involvement. Our body is designed to heal itself but slow growing, chronic inflammation can create a burden that we are unaware of. Thermography is a tool using a camera that detects temperatures in the tissues. A cool temperature will image in blue. As the temperature rises it will be reflected in green, yellow, orange, red and finally the hottest is white.
